The Kingston Frontenacs opened the 2012-13 season with a solid victory over the Barrie Colts. Rookie first round pick, Sam Bennett wasted no time picking up his first OHL goal, scoring the games third goal and helping lead the Fronts to the win.
Michael Moffat opened the scoring for the Fronts midway through the opening period and then Cody Alcock added a power play goal late to give the Fronts a 2-0 lead after the opening period. Bennett had the loan goal of the second period, which also came with the man advantage.
Barrie sniper Mark Scheifele scored for Barrie midway through the third period, but it was too little, too late on this night, as Mike Morrison turned aside 27 of 28 shots for the win.
The Fronts are off until next week, when they host the Erie Otters at the K-Rock Centre
