FRONTS TAKE DOWN BULLS IN EXHIBITION ACTION

September 7, 2012

Jean Dupuy and Henri Ikonen scored a pair of goals each to help lead the Fronts to a 6-3 win over the Belleville Bulls in exhibition action at the K-Rock Centre

The Kingston Frontenacs picked up their first win of the pre-season with a convincing 6-3 win over the rival Belleville Bulls on Friday night at the K-Rock Centre. Henri Ikonen and Jean Dupuy each had a pair of goals in the win for the Fronts.

The Bulls opened the scoring when Michael Curtis found the back of the net less than two minutes into the game, but Ryan Hutchinson responded for the Fronts to pull them back on even terms. The Bulls once again took the lead on a goal by Garrett Hooey but again the Fronts responded quickly with Nathan Cull pulling the Fronts even. Dupuy and Ikonen each potted their first of the game in the second period to give the Fronts a 4-2 lead but Hooey added his second of the night before the end of the period and the Fronts carried a 4-3 lead into the final period.

In the third period it was Dupuy and Ikonen picking up their second goals of the night and the Fronts skated off with the 6-3 win to kick start their exhibition season.

The Fronts travel down the 401 to Beleville on Saturday night for a return date with the Bulls.
