When Tyler J. Brown first arrived in the Limestone City the question wasn't what who was this kid and what does he offer, that actually came later.  The question was: what's with the 'J'?  Turns out that Brown, our newest acquisition from the Plymouth Whalers wasn't the only Brown on that team.  Nor was he the only Tyler.  Tyler J. Brown was the American Left Winger, Tyler G. Brown was the Canadian Centre.  It was however, Tyler J. that came to Kingston and although he has always been a very good player something about him changed this season.

On the lookout for a new captain the players took a vote and the 'C' was bestowed upon Brown.  It came as a shock to most fans who were rooting for Stokes who is a little more of an in your face type leader.  Brown is a little quieter on ice but apparently respected by his teammates.  Nevertheless despite initial reservations Brown has proved to be quite the leader and since being named captain he has elevated his game to a whole new level.

So far Brown has 18 goals and 14 assists for a total of 32 points.  Interestingly Ryan Spooner has 14 goals and 18 assists.  Do you see the correlation here?  The chemistry between these two players so far this season has been incredible, but it is most certainly Brown that has benefited the most as he is already having a career best season. Some of the plays he has created have been mind blowing. Not to overlook Brown's defensive game, he has also stepped up in that respect too.  He commits, gets back when he has to, he'll hustle and get the job done no matter what it takes.  Several times Tyler has prevented goals, much to the relief of often bombarded Igor Bobkov.

In regards to toughness, Brown doesn't disappoint there either as evidenced by an awesome tilt against Luke Judson on December 2.

Currently unaffiliated  with an NHL team, if Tyler's performance continues on this high it's almost guaranteed that he'll get some invites rookie and training camps.
