The Kingston Frontenacs (8-19-4) scored first for the third consecutive game but couldn't keep pace in the second period as they dropped a 5-2 decision to the Brampton Batallion (18-10-4).

Cody Alcock got Kingston off to a quick start for the second night in a row as he scored his tenth goal of the season just 1:18 into the contest when he took a puck behind the net and banked it in off of Battalion goaltender Matej Machovsky. Conor Stokes and Darcy Greenaway were credited with the assists on Alcock's goal. Alcock scored the opening goal against Niagara on Saturday night less than two minutes into the game as well.

The Battalion scored twice before the end of the period, giving them a 2-1 lead heading into the dressing rooms. Jamie Lewis scored the first of his two goals less than two minutes after Alcock opened the scoring before Philip Lane gave Brampton their lead three minutes after the Lewis tally. Lane's goal was shorthanded with the Frontenacs in the final seconds of a power play.

Kingston equalized in the second as Kyler Nixon scored his second goal in two games just 2:36 into the frame with a shot from the point that found its way through a screen and past Machovsky. Dan Mazurek and Tyler Brown got the assits on Nixon's fourth goal of the season. The goal was as close as the Frontenacs would get as Brampton responded with three unanswered goals of their own.

Lewis scored his second goal of the game 40 seconds after Nixon's equalizer. The goal was unassisted during a scramble in front of the net. Frontenacs goaltender Igor Bobkov couldn't locate the bouncing puck as it slid past him. The Battalion added their fourth of the game before the second period expired when Sam Carrick tipped a shot from Marcus McIvor past Bobkov during 4-on-4 play.

Carrick added an insurance marker for the Battalion halfway through the third period on the power play when he batted in a rebound off of a McIvor point shot.

It was a chippy game in Brampton as the teams combined for 22 penalties with both teams taking seven power plays apiece and the Battalion scoring the lone power play goal of the game.

Bobkov was solid in goal for the Frontenacs, stopping 36 of 41 shots he faced including 19 of 21 in the second period alone. Machovsky stopped 17 of 19 shots in goal for Brampton.

The Frontenacs return to action on the road against Belleville on Wednesday December 11 when they take on the Bulls. Puck drop is set for 7:05 pm.
