Bill Robinson

Bill RobinsonBill Robinson spent three seasons with the Kingston Frontenacs beginning in 1990 and concluding in the 1992-93 season, where they advanced to the Leyden Division Finals. Robinson finished his career playing in 123 games, all of them in a Kingston uniform, scoring 34 goals and adding 39 assists with 103 penalty minutes.  He added another goal and five assists during his 16 playoff games during that same 92-93 season, where the Fronts enjoyed their most successful playoff run in franchise history.  After leaving Kingston in 1993, Robinson played one season with the Detroit Falcons of the Colonial Hockey League, scoring 18 goals and 33 points in just 37 games.

Today Bill Robinson is a Police Office, living in Thunder Bay, Ontario with his wife Charlene and their kids Aalayiah who is 13 and one-year-old Austyn. Robinson has fond memories of his playing days in Kingston, “I spent 3 years in Kingston and will never forget it as long as I live. I wish I could go back and say thank you to every single fan, because I played hard for them each and every night. I loved that roar of the crowd when I made a big hit or big play,” said Robinson.

Robinson’s favorite Kingston hockey memory was the 1992-93 playoff run, where the Fronts advanced all the way to the Leyden Division Finals, before being ousted by the Peterborough Petes, just one round short of a berth in the Memorial Cup.  “That team was the best team I’ve even been a part of. We had such a great team and so many great players too. We were a really close knit group and we played hard for each other and I’ve always been proud to be associated with that group of guys,” said Robinson. Bill also lists Dave Allison, the Coach of that Fronts team as his favorite all time coach, “He was an excellent teacher of the game. Both he and his brother Mike really knew how to get the most out of us.”

Bill Robinson was a hard working Frontenac and worked extra hard because he loved the Kingston hockey fans. “I just hope they will never forget me because I will never forget them. Kingston Hockey Fans Rock,”
