Fronts Fall

Despite their hot play of late, the Frontenacs fell to the Peterborough Petes 6-4 on Thursday evening. Coming off three straight wins over the weekend, Kingston was looking to continue their winning ways but Peterborough would have none of that. Opening the scoring just 2:46 into the first period was Petes centre Joey West. Just 5 minutes later, Josh Brittain answered back on the powerplay for Kingston. Rookie defenseman Taylor Doherty then gave Kingston the lead at 15:57 of the first. The goal was assisted by Josh Brittain and Kyle Bochek. Both teams continued their back and forth ways all evening. A late goal in the second frame was the difference as Petes forward Pat Daley scored the game winning goal at 19:55. That would turn out to be the difference as Branislav Rehus added an empty net goal to complete a 6-4 win. With the loss, Kingston was officially eliminated from the playoff race. Despite a great effort down the stretch, the team came up a little short. As a young team, Kingston played very well down the stretch under pressure. The Frontenacs now return to action right away as they play host to John Tavares and the Oshawa Generals tomorrow evening at the K-Rock Centre. Tickets are still available by visiting the K-Rock Centre Box Office or phoning 1-877-554-8399.
