The Kingston Frontenacs and the Ontario Hockey League value and respect the commitments made by both players and families to the League and their teams. The Kingston Frontenacs and the OHL provides young hockey talent with the opportunity to develop their hockey skills on the ice at the highest possible level, without compromising their academic goals.
While a player’s primary on ice goal is to contribute to winning games and competing at their highest level, it is equally important for that player to set his sights on academic success as well. The Kingston Frontenacs actively participate in the league-wide OHL Education Standards to ensure that players complete their high school and begin their college or university careers. 95% of all OHL players attend high school, college or university. The OHL is primarily a weekend league with 90% of all games being scheduled between Thursday and Sunday, thus allowing players to attend school regularly.
Every Kingston Frontenac player who graduates from the OHL and does not sign a professional hockey contract is eligible for a Kingston Frontenac education package for each year played with the team.
The Kingston Frontenacs have two Academic Advisors, Mike Hamilton and Rick Price to assist players with educational questions, direction and guidance.
